What it’s all about
Opposites in every way . . . except the one that matters
Shaw Landon loved Rule Archer from the moment she laid eyes on him. Rule is everything a straight-A pre-med student like Shaw shouldn’t want—and the only person she’s never tried to please. She isn’t afraid of his scary piercings and tattoos or his wild attitude. Though she knows that Rule is wrong for her, her heart just won’t listen.
To a rebel like Rule Archer, Shaw Landon is a stuck-up, perfect princess-and his dead twin brother’s girl. She lives by other people’s rules; he makes his own. He doesn’t have time for a good girl like Shaw-even if she’s the only one who can see the person he truly is.
But a short skirt, too many birthday cocktails, and spilled secrets lead to a night neither can forget. Now, Shaw and Rule have to figure out how a girl like her and a guy like him are supposed to be together without destroying their love . . . or each other.
What I thought
Wow. Well hell. This is unusual for me. I don’t even know where to start. I have had the paper back of this book for a long time. Well over a year. Every now and again I would be doing something and I would see the face of the cover model looking at me and I would think – I must read that book. In the last six months or so I have noticed a lot of posts on several Facebook groups and other blogs pages about Jay Crownover. Then in July I was meant to go to the author signing in Dublin, unfortunately I ended up having surgery that week and missed it. Luckily for me my good friend Carmel Harrington brought me back the most amazing bag of swag. In it there was car stickers and other Marked Men swag. I would often look at it and say I must read that book.
I am not sure why but recently when I was on Amazon I saw Rule and said feck it I will just buy it. I would rather read on my kindle than a paperback any day of the week. I also bought the next two in the series. I was busy beta reading for another amazing author so still never got around to it. The two of my other favourite authors released books and you know – whats a girl to do.
I was finished all others and was wondering what to read when I walked past my book-case and there was the gorgeous face looking out at me again and I though ‘fuck it’ and dived right in.
One day.
That’s all it took. I read Rule in one day and wondered why in the name of all that is Holy did I leave it so long. I sure as hell didn’t know that I had such a gem for all of these months. The book is absolutely bloody brilliant. Words cannot describe how book this is. I went through so many emotions reading this story. Happy, said, frustrated and down right pissed off. Both characters are strong, thank god, and this in itself makes the story combustible. They are stubborn, strong-minded and passionate. They are also sweet, tender and compassionate. Oh ya they are also hot. Rule is seriously hot in that bad boy look kinda way.
I was so sorry to get to the end of this book but thank the heavens its part of a series so while this book is over we still get to find out what happens to them in the following books. Right now I am reading Jet and well I just can’t wait to review that and I am only half way through!!
Watch this space 🙂
