Rush (Pandemic Sorrow) by Stevie J. Cole Cover Reveal

Release Date: Dec. 13th

Synopsis:

It’s my job to play music, to make girls wet, and then to screw a select few of them. I’m a professional rocker. I’m rich, I’m famous, I’m one lucky
son-of-a-bitch. I have everything – except control.

The industry owns me. And the only thing I have a minuscule grain of control with is women, but not that dominate, tie you up and gag you kind of control.
No, I want to govern how I make them feel. I need them to feel like a goddess while I’m in them, and I love being able to control the fact that they’ll
never really have me. Love is complicated. It is bullshit. And even if I thought I needed it, the rules of being a rocker won’t allow it.

Sex is all I need.

I don’t need love.

But for some reason I want her. For some reason I can’t get her out of my mind. And lately, every time I’m with any girl besides her it feels wrong.

I can practically have any woman I want, but I can’t have her. She’s off limits because she’s part of that industry that owns my ass.

Sex was all I had.

And sometimes I thought maybe love was all I needed…with her.

Title: All I Want
Series: Alabama Summer #2

 Release Date: November 24, 2014

Synopsis

Luke Evans is a heartbreaker.

I didn’t want to give mine to him. Not when he kept
me out.

He gave me enough, just enough to make me fall in
love with him. I say this to convince myself. But I know the truth.

I would’ve fallen in love with him at a distance.

Handing my heart over to Luke was the easiest thing
I’ve ever done. I was naive when I wished for more, when I hoped he wanted the
same things I did.

I try to hate him. I try to forget him.

But it’s not that easy.

Love is a ruthless bitch, and I’m her latest victim.

Tessa Kelly is a man-eater.

When she sets her sights on you, she doesn’t just
consume your heart, she goes for your soul.

What we had was perfect, real, and all I would ever
want.

But she destroyed it.

She destroyed us.

I try to hate her. I try to forget her.

But it’s not that easy.

Love is for people who have hope, and I have none.

Prologue
Two
months ago

No.

No.

No.

Jesus. Fuck, no.

There are absolutely zero good-looking men
at this thing. Besides Reed, who disappeared an hour ago with some giggly
brunette, and the man I refuse to acknowledge. Weddings are supposed to be a
breeding ground for nameless hook-ups, and I’m shit out of luck at this one. So
instead of getting drilled in a concealed corner somewhere, my dress bunched
around my waist as a stranger becomes familiar with my sounds, I’m having to
find other ways to pass the time.

Eat cake.

Hit up the open bar.

Eat more cake.

Dance with Nolan.

Get cake with Nolan.

Steal Mia away from Ben.

Watch Mia get carried off by Ben.

And now this.

Sitting at an empty table, watching as Ben,
Mia, and Nolan all slow dance together. Nolan’s in between them, rubbing Mia’s
growing baby bump, while Ben can’t seem to keep his eyes off his new wife. I’m
crazy happy for them, but right now, I can’t watch them share another perfect
family moment in front of me. I need a break from this. Just a few minutes to
get some air.

I step out of the tent and head across the
lawn toward the Estate House. I’m walking aimlessly, not having any destination
in mind. I just need to get away from all the love for a second. Love is great
when you’re with someone. It’s better when it’s reciprocated. But it fucking
sucks when that shit is one-sided.

And that’s the only way I’ve known it.

I walk down the side of the building and
turn right to go around the back. As soon as I round the corner, I see him.

He’s leaning against the building behind
some shrubs, head back, eyes closed, lips slightly parted. His sandy-brown hair
is cut shorter than normal, almost buzzed completely, and it does really
annoying things to his face. Like show it off more. Those ridiculously gorgeous
features of his are on display for my eyes right now, and I don’t have to avert
my gaze because he doesn’t know I’m watching. He has no idea I’m staring at his
sharp, angular cheekbones, the fullness of his mouth, or the bump at the bridge
of his nose that I see as this perfect imperfection.

God, I fucking love that bump.

His face tenses as his arms move to the
front of his body, and I let my eyes roam to the reason for this change.

The blonde I recognize from the wedding is
on her knees with his cock lodged in her mouth, deep throating it until she
gags. His hands are in her hair, encouraging her, pulling her closer until she
practically swallows him whole. I lift my eyes to that face I was just secretly
admiring seconds ago. It’s no longer tempting me to keep my presence unknown.
Because there’s no way in hell I’m going to let this shit happen right now.

Fuck him, and his face.

I step in front of the bush and make a
fist, clearing my throat into it. Luke’s eyes shoot open and he grabs the
blonde’s head, sliding her off his cock. She releases it with a pop and a grunt
of disappointment. Apparently, she isn’t finished. But she looks pretty fucking
finished to me.

Luke tucks himself away quickly. “What the
fuck, Tessa? What are you doing?”

I look from him to the blonde. “Oh,
sweetie. You might want to go disinfect. He’s got the herp.”

Slutty blonde parts her lips as if she’s
waiting for another cock. She stands and wipes her mouth with the back of her
hand, glaring in Luke’s direction. “Oh my God. Are you serious? You have
herpes?”

Luke’s wide eyes train on mine. “What? No I
don’t!”

“He’s really sweet about it though,” I say,
looking sympathetically at the blonde. “He pays for my Valtrex every month.” I
turn my eyes to Luke, letting out a swooning sigh. “So romantic.”

Blonde shoves against Luke’s chest. “You’re
disgusting.”

“I don’t have fucking herpes!” Luke
adamantly vows as he tightens his belt.

I watch, basking in my victory as blonde
trudges through the grass, getting her heel caught in the process. She stumbles
a bit, glares at Luke over her shoulder, and disappears around the corner.

“I can’t fucking believe you just did
that,” Luke says, prompting me to whip my head around to look at him. He
buttons his suit jacket up and steps closer. “What the hell is wrong with you?”

You.

What happened between us.

And
the fact that you’ve obviously moved on without any difficulty.

I close the gap and he freezes, his hand
flattening against his jacket. My gaze flicks from his crotch to his face, and
I mask all the hurt of seeing this asshole with another woman behind the fakest
smile I’ve ever worn.

“There’s absolutely nothing wrong with me.
You, on the other hand, might want to go to the clinic. If you didn’t have an
STD before that whore touched you, I’m sure you have one now.”

I
turn and storm away before he can give me a comeback. But more importantly,
before he can see the smile fading from my lips.

Excerpt

Since my wife was out partying again, bedtime routine for our girls was left to me. Again. I tucked Ally and Becky into bed and began to read a story to them. “Once upon a time…”

“Dadda?” Ally said placing her hand on the storybook and stopping me from continuing.

I paused and looked at my daughter. “Yes, Alleycat?”

“Dadda, what’s a hooka?”

“Whaaaat?” I peered at my daughter wondering if I had heard correctly.

“The teacher at preschool, she said, ‘Here comes the hooka,’ when she saw Mummy.”

Slowly, I lowered the book and stared at my daughter. “It’s …it’s …”

How do I explain what a hooker is to a four-year-old? I shouldn’t even be in a position where I had to.

“The lady shouldn’t have said that, Ally,” I muttered.

“But, Dadda …”

Two-year-old Becky spun around and clamped her hand over Ally’s mouth. “Shhh! Let Daddy read the story, Ally!”

Becky hated anyone interrupting a story, so to prevent her from getting mad with us, both Ally and I fell silent. I continued reading even though I was terribly distracted by Ally’s words.

“Talk about it tomorrow, Ally,” I muttered when the opportunity arose.

Ally nodded.

After the kids fell asleep, I sat in my lounge in the dark and pondered Ally’s teacher’s comment.

Liefie had great legs, a great figure and I had no problem with her wearing whatever she liked, but people were talking and clearly her dressing needed to be …addressed.

Of course I expected Liefie to become angry when I confronted her about it, accuse me of controlling her and after the number of arguments we had had, I was reluctant to talk to her about it.

But when I saw her the following evening, all dolled up and ready to party without her family again, hooker was the word, alright.

Her red skirt was the size of a large belt, her white top strained across her breasts and ended above her belly button, her fake tan looked like she’d dipped herself in food coloring and that garish, face paint with that dominating electric-blue eye shadow…reminded me of Braveheart.

She didn’t look pretty; she looked like an aging prostitute. Harsh words, I know, but they weren’t out of malice, they were simply an observation. (People were talking, remember?)

Tarty make-up aside, to my absolute surprise, she sported two piercings above her left eyebrows. My jaw fell.

When did that happen, I wondered? How could that happen? Why hadn’t she told me about it?

Of course it was her body and she was free to do what she liked to it, but facial piercings weren’t something I liked. She knew that.

She could have at least mentioned it to me before she pieced her face. We were husband and wife; it was reasonable to expect her to talk to me about something like that before she did it.

“What’s with the piercing?” I asked, both mesmerized and irritated by them.

She shrugged, flashed me a deal-with-it look and turned away.

With a weary sigh, I walked around to face her. “We need to talk.”

A guarded look flashed in her eyes before they hardened.

“Liefie, you need to dress more like a mother,” I said in a quiet voice. “You have two children and …”

“What?! You want to tell me how to dress now? You want to CONTROL ME?”

Just as I had expected.

“Hey, keep you voice down, will you? I’m talking to you, that’s all.”

“There is nothing wrong with my dressing, okay?! Nothing!”

“Yes, there is, Liefie. Your skirts are too short, your tops are way too tight and the people at Ally’s school are talking about it. You need to …”

“Ally’s school?” Her heavily-lined eyes slanted.

“Yes!”

Her painted, pillar-box-red mouth twisted into a sneer. “You’re lying.”

“I’m not. I swear!”

She cocked her head and looked at me. “Who told you that?”

“Ally told me. She said one of the mothers or teachers, I can’t remember, after seeing you, used the word hooker.”

Her body stiffened. “Ally said ….THAT?!?”

“Yea…”

“That bitch! Where is she?!” She turned and strode off in search of Ally. Even though she was in heels, she almost ran.

“Liefie stop!” I cried running after her, shocked she would call her little daughter a bitch. “Leave her alone!”

She found Ally playing with Becky in the TV room. “Did you call me a hooker?” she demanded, putting her flaming face in Ally’s.

“Liefie stop this shit!” I warned.

Ally’s eyes flitted between Liefie’s and mine, a terrified look on her face.

“Lief…ie! ” I hissed. “Stop this …”

Liefie suddenly backhanded Ally across the face, sending her crashing into a doll’s house.

Ally lay on the floor so stunned, she didn’t even cry. The only thing that showed her distress was puddle appearing around her waist.

For a moment, I too was stunned. Liefie had never ever hit our kids before.

Then fury overtook me – I grabbed my wife by the hair and slammed her against the wall.

Putting my face in hers, I snarled, “You ever touch my child like that and I will fuck the shit out of you, understand? UNDERSTAND?”

Her attempt to look defiant failed and I saw fear flicker in her eyes.

I had never hit Liefie before, never even called her names, so this wasn’t something she was used to.

“Don’t ever lay a finger on any of my daughters. Understand?” I pushed my face further into hers, resisting the urge to head-butt her.

“Daddy, stop! Daddy!” Ally cried, while Becky started to whimper. I looked over at my two children clinging to each other, terror on their little faces.

What am I doing?!

Quickly, I released Liefie and took a giant step back.

I walked over to Ally and Becky, scooped up both of them and hugged them to me. “It’s okay, it’s okay!”

They looked at their mother who stood holding her head with both hands, but did not try to go to her.

After a few moments, Liefie ran out of the room, shouting, “Your father is an abusive man! He just abused me in front of our children. That’s the kind of man I married!”

I looked at Ally. “Sorry, hon.”

“Why did you tell her, Daddy?” Ally whispered, holding her tear-stained cheek.

“I’m sorry, Al, I was trying to get her to do the right thing. I’m sorry.”

“You knew she’d hit me, Daddy. You shouldn’t have told her.”

I peered at Ally. “What are you talking about? She doesn’t hit you, Ally. Usually. Right?”

No answer.

“ALLY?!”

“I need to change my pants,” Ally muttered, ignoring my questions.

My head jerked to look at little Becky.

Becky’s head bobbed, her eyes opening wide.

You can’t be serious?!

My eyes shifted back to Ally. “This is the first time she hit you, right? Or does she hit you? Tell me, Ally.” I shook her. “Tell me!”

Becky’s head continued to bob.

“All the time, Daddy,” Ally finally muttered. “Yesterday she hit me because I took too long to get Uncle Viggo’s beer. From the fridge.”

“WHAAAT?” She had my four-year-old daughter fetching alcohol for her brother?

Ally nodded.

“Mummy hit Ally here,” Becky said, slapping the top of her head.

I was mortified at what I was hearing.

If Liefie could hit my daughter that way in front of me, backhand her, what would she be doing behind my back? Aghast, I looked at my firstborn who I idolized. “Ally, honey, why didn’t you tell me this?”

“You weren’t here, Dadda. And Mummy said if I carry tales she’ll make me sorry.” Fat tears coursed down little Ally cheeks. I drew my girls closer, feeling absolutely gutted to know they were being silently abused by their own mother. “I’m sorry,” I said. “Daddy will make it stop. I’m so sorry. This is not going to happen again. I promise.”

About the Author

I am a Native American author that grew up on the Bay Mills Indian Reservation. I work in a small accounting department, but love to read and write
Erotica/romance literature.

Positive Inspirations

I read countless books and listen hours upon hours of rock music to keep me sane. In a matter of months, I had written a novel and submitted my manuscript
for publishing approval in May. Since then, my writing career has snowballed into something much larger than I anticipated. I enjoyed the writing aspect of
releasing my novel so much, that I decided music should not be left out of the final product, as it was such an influential part of the creative process.

Where There’s a Will by Stacy Gail

Title: Where There’s a Will
Series: Bitterthorn, Texas #1
Author: Stacy Gail
Publisher: Carina Press
 Release Date: November 17, 2014

Synopsis

Miranda
Brookhaven returned to Bitterthorn, Texas to fix the past. Years ago,
her father used her teenage romance with Coe Rodas to steal the
prototype for a groundbreaking new automotive invention. Now her
father’s dead, and thanks to the convoluted will he left behind, she’s
stuck in town until she rights the wrong that lost her the man she
loved.

Coe learned early on that life never goes according to
plan. His dreams of hitting it big vanished when Miranda all but invited
her father to take the only thing of value he ever had. But now the
once-pampered princess is holed up in a condemned trailer on the edge of
town…and everything he thought he knew about her—and about what
happened between them back then—seems completely wrong.

Miranda’s
determined to give back to Coe all that he lost. If she can do that,
maybe she can move on from the past. But Coe seems to be more interested
in their rekindled passion than claiming what she thinks he deserves.
She’s got sixty days to convince him to cough up evidence that he’s the
original inventor—after that, the only way to transfer the patent rights
over to him would be to make him part of the family, and she’s not sure
her heart can take another hit.

Excerpt

“Shit like dirt and
grime don’t belong on you. Silk, diamonds…me.
That’s what belongs on you.” His big feet were on either side of hers, and she
drank in the heat pouring off his chest at her back as he went about sliding
his soapy fingers through hers. It felt good, that slick slide of flesh against
flesh. Too good. The heat sinking into every pore of her skin brought her back
to when they’d been in this situation once before, and it made her bite her
lip. She remembered the trembling, the excitement, and the crippling
uncertainty of what she should do next.

Time really made all
the difference in the world. Seven years later, she now knew exactly what to
do.

Her soapy hands
slipped over his, squeezing, caressing. Cleaning his skin as he cleaned hers,
yes, but it was obvious her interests weren’t just in getting clean. But maybe
that was because while she did that, she also nudged her ass back against him,
hitching up just a bit so she could hit the money spot…

He sucked in a sharp
breath.

Jackpot.

“Miranda.” His voice
was low and rumbling. It purred down the length of her spine to pool deep in
her belly, where the sweet tension of need began to curl in on itself. That
masculine rumble shortened her breath and tensed her thigh muscles, because she
knew what it meant. He wanted her, and soon he’d go for what he wanted just as
hard and hot as she wanted him to. “Careful, babe.”

“I had you shut the
doors. That’s careful enough.” She looked over her shoulder at him, just as she
had when she was eighteen and almost dying from attraction. It was no less
intense now, and she could only marvel at the hold he had on her. “I hope you
have protection on you, because I won’t be satisfied with just a kiss this time
around.”

“But you will be satisfied.” With the glitter of
arousal building into a wildfire blaze in his eyes, he turned off the water.
Then he braced her hands on the far lip on the sink before reaching for the
front of her pants. “This garage guarantees satisfaction for all the work I do
here.”

“Good policy.” The
last of her retort fizzled on a hiss as his fingers dived past the barrier of
her panties and into her cleft. Her head dropped forward while she pushed
against his hand, and the sinuous roll of her hips rubbed the hardness behind
her. Her pleasure fed his, and soon their disturbed breathing was echoing
through the garage.

Damn, but the man
knew what he was doing.

“I love how wet you
get for me.” His voice was deliciously rough, exciting her all the more. Then
the sound of a zipper and crinkling of packaging being ripped open reached her
ears, and she almost hyperventilated. “I’m going to make you come so hard your
legs won’t be able to hold you for the rest of the day.”

Oh,
dear God…

Author Bio

A competitive figure skater from the age of eight, Stacy Gail began
writing stories in between events to pass the time. By the age of fourteen, she
told her parents she was either going to be a figure skating coach who was also
a published romance writer, or a romance writer who was also a skating pro. Now
with a day job of playing on the ice with her students, and writing everything
from steampunk to cyberpunk, contemporary to paranormal at night, both dreams
have come true.
