What does Mandy write about?  Hot Heroes – emotional reads! Mandy is an award-winning romantic fiction author, writing humorous chick-lit, through to heart-pulling contemporary romance and action-packed romantic suspense. There is always a gorgeous leading man at the core of the story. Dialogue-driven romance with strong characters and real life dilemmas since 2008.

In 2012 she won the Innovation in Romantic Fiction award at the UK’s Festival of Romance. Her self-published title, Strings Attached was also short-listed for the Best Author Published Read award.

Also in 2012 she signed with American publishing house, Sapphire Star Publishing, who produced her novels, Taking Charge and romantic suspense, Security.

In June 2013 she signed a two-book deal with Harper Collins’ digital first romance imprint, Harper Impulse.

“My name is Mandy Baggot and I’m addicted to hot men! If I wasn’t a writer I would probably get in real trouble for the amount of time I spend drooling over male models on the internet. But it’s all in the name of research, honest!

I’ve been writing romantic fiction since I was in senior school but never believed I could make a career out of it. But back in 2010 I took the plunge and left my job as a Probate paralegal at a firm of solicitors and became a full-time author. The roles couldn’t have been more different. Tax forms and reconciling bank statements or handsome heroes and international settings? Hmm…

Now, here I am, having self-published five books and been traditionally published for four books (and counting!). I am doing my dream job and I feel like the luckiest person in the world to be able to say that.

My real life romantic hero is my husband, Mr Big. I admired him from afar for a while, then spent ten years grinding him down until he realised I really should be his Mrs Right. Determination is one of my strengths! Now we have two daughters together and live in the tranquil Woodford Valley in Wiltshire very close to Sting – although he’s never been round for a cup of sugar.

When I’m not writing delicious leading men I can be found with my head in my Kindle or belting out a tune on You Tube. I’ve always had a love of music and singing and it’s never left me. And, with my guitarist husband, we’ve been entertaining at parties just recently. I’m that embarrassing mum that sings loudest at school concerts and isn’t afraid to shake her booty in public.

I love country/rock/pop – you name it I probably have a song of it on my iPhone. But just lately I’ve been listening to some traditional Greek music. I like to think of Corfu as my second home and I’ve been lucky enough to visit there twice a year for the last three years. I love the culture, the sunshine, the people – I feel so relaxed there and it’s a brilliant place to get writing inspiration.

So when I’m not dribbling over sexy men, or listening to music, or reading on my Kindle or embarrassing my children or sunning myself in Corfu I will be dreaming up my next hot plot and a leading man to die for…or maybe drinking wine…or eating sausages… “
