that’s what I always thought. The night we met, we had an instant attraction,
but she was with someone else. When we reunited a few months later, that pull
was still there, stronger than ever. So strong, that even though she was
hundreds of miles away, I pursued her. I told myself that I just wanted to get
to know her. Deep down I knew it was more.I never understood the draw of living in the middle of nowhere. Born and raised
a city girl, I never had the desire to leave. Who would have thought a weekend
trip to the country would have me questioning myself? It was more than just the
country; it’s him. The way he looks at me, treats me, that smooth southern
drawl.Am I willing to give up my legacy for her?
Am I willing to give up my dream for him?
Can two souls come together by the force of Southern Attraction?
Kaylee Ryan is absolutely one of my absolute favourite authors and this latest book from her certainly did not disappoint. I couldn’t wait to get my copy of her latest book and yes I do know how unbelievably lucky I am to get my greedy little mits on it early.
Even if I didn’t already love KR then the cove of this book would have been enough to sell me. I mean, seriously, did you look at it? I am sure a lot of people will one click based on the cover alone.
Anyway, back to the book. Kaylee Ryan just gives me all the feels. Those fluttery little butterflies that just take up residence in my belly every time I read one of her books. Actually that one line not too far from the start had me dancing a jig all around the sitting room (in my head of course – give me some credit), you know the one – “Are you still with him”. It did the same kind of thing to me as the elevator scent and “fuck the paperwork” in FSOG. I love a book with a big strong southern male in it. You cannot beat a southern man. They just really do something to me. This lady writes some of the best Southern men you will ever be likely to come across. Add into that a sweet, strong female character and you are on to a winner. A girl that knows her own mind, that won’t be a push over and will fight for herself. Well the chemistry is going to be off the charts.
While this book had its share of conflict it wasn’t over the top or being dramatic just for the sake of it. It wasn’t filled with pages of angst just because that’s what the author feels people want. There wasn’t sex just to fill the pages and sell the book. It was just the perfect balance of everything and it had you rooting for the main characters to overcome all the obstacles in their way and find a way to make it work.
Another huge plus for this book was being able to catch up with the characters from the previous books, it gives an added dimension that you just don’t get with stand alones.
author. When she’s not spinning tales of happily ever after, she’s
reading or spending time with family. Born and raised an Ohio girl,
Kaylee resides in Cincinnati with her husband and their son.
