BLURB:

I had it all.
Breaking into the entertainment business as a teenager wasn’t easy. I spent years of my childhood traveling, auditioning and hoping my big break would come. And when I did, I rose to a level I never imagined.
Elle Tyler: model, singer and actress. I couldn’t go anywhere without security anymore. It was everything I ever wanted and more – fame, fortune and worldwide recognition. At age twenty-four, I was living a dream.
But a single act of violence shattered my fairytale existence. In a matter of seconds, all the goodness in me was ripped to shreds. Overnight, the people around me dropped away, moving on to find the next big thing. I gave up on myself, becoming a woman so dark and forlorn I no longer recognized myself.
But the stranger who saved me that day, Justin Lockhart, never gave up on me. He still saw light through my darkness. And as we grew closer, I started to see it, too. And I also started to see that before that terrible day, maybe I didn’t really have it all. Maybe I was always missing the only thing that really matters.

What I thought;

Brenda Rothert is an author I stumbled across one day when I was recommended a book. I think it was even free at the time. When I got round to reading it I was instantly hooked and immediately read her whole back catalogue.

The Lockhart Brothers series was new at the time. I have waited with little patience for each of the boys books to be released and I was especially eager for Justins books as he wasn’t featured in the previous books as much as his brothers.

Hidden Depth was an amazing read. Intense would be one word that I use to describe it. Lets be honest Brenda Rothert is royalty when it comes to writing intense, sexy, soulful and heartfelt stories. You know how sometimes you are reading a book and everything is plodding along lovely and it is almost as if the author says oh we are 2/4 of the way through we better through in some angst/confrontation or drama.. yea you know what I mean. There is none of that here. Everything is well thought out, perfectly placed and beautifully paced. Everything unfolded in a timely matter, the heart strings were tugged and the humour brought out in a natural easy flowing manor. The story was so easy to read – too easy, it was finished in a matter of hours which is painful because it unfortunately takes a little longer for Brenda to write the next one!

Justin was just such a sweet yet strong character and Elle brought beauty, strength and a humble quality to the story. Together they were a beautiful couple that you couldn’t help but cheer on.
